The Mayne Jersey takes its name after Lieutenant Colonel Robert Blair "Paddy" Mayne. A talented Rugby player for both Ireland and The British & Irish Lions, touring with the latter in 1938. He was also a founding member of the Special Air Service.
He holds the record of the most enemy aircraft destroyed in a single action (47 destroyed), despite not being a member of the Royal Air Force or a Pilot..!
The Mayne Jersey is striped across the body, in Burgundy and Navy, and proudly sports the Stanley Biggs Aero Club Crest on the left chest.
