Recommended by The Telegraph as 'the most authentic rugby shirt.'
The Mobbs Jersey, made in England, is named after the Northampton and England Rugby Union player and captain, Edgar Robert Mobbs DSO.
A successful sportsman, like many of his generation, when the Great War broke out in 1914, he went to join up. He was rejected initially due to being too old to serve. A determined man, Mobbs raised his own "sportsman's" company of 250 sportsmen for the Northamptonshire Regiment. This was known as 'The Mobbs Own' (7th battalion).
Edgar Mobbs' name can be found at the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium. He is of one of 55,000 missing with no known grave who died in Belgium during the Great War of 1914-1918.
Owner, Sophie Bainbridge has a direct link to this particular battalion, with her great uncle Edward Penny, serving in 1918.
The Moggs Jersey is made here in England, and is designed to be played in, so is the most authentic jersey out there. The jersey, in 'antique' white, proudly sports the Stanley Biggs Aero Club Crest on the left breast.
